Interview with The Float Room in Romania

Vladimir Buliga, owner of The Float Room, answered The Traveling Floater’s questions about his business. His was one of four float centers to open just last year, 2016, before that, Romania didn’t have any!

Where did you hear about floating first?

I first heard about floating on the internet, while searching for new ways to relax and relieve stress.
The first float center I found online was a center in Bangkok and I remember wondering what could those two eggs possibly do to relax you?

What made you decide to open your own floating business?

There are many factors that made me open my Float Center.
The two most important were that I tried floating once and although I didn’t fully relax, I felt great afterwards.
Another very important factor was that, at the time I first found out about floating, there were no float centers in Romania.
I just had to open one so that everybody can find out about how great it is!

What’s the best part about it?

Besides the fact that I can float whenever I want or need, I love to see the way people open the door smiling after the floating session!

How known is floatation therapy in your country?

Floating is not very well known in Romania, we only have four float centers at the moment, all opened within the last year.
Even so, I was happy to see many of our clients already familiar with floating from podcasts or from traveling abroad.

What is being done to make it more known – what do you do?

First step in making Floating known was opening a Float Center in Bucharest.
Being a new therapy in our country, Google campaigns don’t work too well as people don’t know what to search for.
The best feedback we had was through facebook and from our happy clients spreading the word.

How many tanks do you have?

We have two float pod’s, each in its own room.

What’s different/unique about your center?

We try to keep our float center as clean and simple as possible. We take our time with the clients before and after the float so that they have all their questions answered and fears erased. After floating we always stay at a cup of tea with them to find out their opinion and what we could do better.

What makes people come to you?

The feeling people get after floating makes them return. Also they like our center for its design and us for making them feel at home.

What’s a No-go for a floating center?

The worst thing is a dirty float room.
