Interview with Cloud 9 – South Africa

The Traveling Floater interviewed Angela Hardy from Cloud 9 in South Africa:

Where did you hear about floating first?

I read about it is a Dean Koontz book, when I was about 12 and thought it was fascinating, and was desperate to try it myself. What made you decide to open your own floating business?

What made you decide to open your own floating business?

I was looking for something in alignment with the healing work that I was doing, and saw an article in a magazine about floatation, and knew immediately that that is what I wanted to do.

What’s the best part about it?

The best part is the simplicity of it, and seeing my clients come in, feeling all stressed out, and walk out with a whole new look on their faces.

How known is floatation therapy in your country?

Not particularly.

What is being done to make it more known – what do you do?

I have had numerous articles in various magazines and newspapers about floatation, and of course I have it all over the web and facebook. Cloud 9 floatation was recently featured on the Real Health show on DSTV. Right now Joe Rogan is talking about it a lot on his pod casts, which is wonderful, as he is very popular, and Tim Ferris has it featured in his new book “Tools of Titans”, which is making a splash.

How many tanks do you have?

2.

What’s different/unique about your center?

We are the only centre with proper floatation tanks in Johannesburg, as opposed to the float pools that can be found in some spas.

What makes people come to you?

They want to try something unique, many are working on themselves (in terms of personal development) and make use of the tank as a tool for that.
